Marketing Operations Manager

Relay is a digital banking platform that gives self-made business owners the tools and know-how to be great with money—bringing clarity, confidence, and control to every dollar earned, so they can turn hard work into lasting success. We do this by replacing financial guesswork with real visibility, transforming cash flow from a constant source of stress into a clear signal owners can use to run stronger, more resilient businesses.
We’re looking for a Marketing Operations Manager to help power Relay’s next stage of growth! You’ll sit at the intersection of Marketing and Sales—turning data, insights, and automation into smarter decisions, scalable growth, and helping acquire new SMB customers and partners.
You’ll own and optimize our marketing technology stack, with HubSpot at its core, building the systems, processes, and reporting that give our teams the visibility they need to make impactful decisions. From improving marketing performance to accelerating top-of-funnel growth across our Direct and Accountant & Bookkeeper channels, you’ll play a critical role in how we acquire new SMB customers and partners.
This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership, solve complex challenges, and make a meaningful impact on how Relay grows and scales.

What You’ll Be Doing

Marketing Operations Strategy: Own and prioritize marketing operations initiatives that drive top-of-funnel growth across our Direct SMB and Accountant & Bookkeeper channels. Define clear success metrics, balance customer impact with business value, and proactively adjust strategies based on performance
Marketing Technology: Own and optimize our marketing technology stack, with HubSpot at its core, including workflows, lead lifecycle management, lead scoring, and reporting to support scalable growth
AI & Automation: Build, deploy, and manage AI agents and automations in production to streamline top-of-funnel operations, including lead routing, enrichment, and follow-up
Systems & Process Improvement: Lead system enhancements and process rollouts end-to-end, removing blockers, driving adoption, and building scalable processes that improve operational efficiency
Marketing Attribution & Analytics: Build multi-touch attribution models to understand the customer journey and measure marketing effectiveness. Define KPIs, develop dashboards and reporting, and implement tracking infrastructure to measure campaign and event performance
Funnel Optimization & Performance: Analyze marketing and sales performance to identify friction points, uncover growth opportunities, and address root causes. Translate data and trends into actionable recommendations that improve funnel performance and drive measurable results
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build trusted partnerships with Marketing, Sales, and leadership to align priorities, communicate recommendations, and drive informed decisions. Create clear documentation and scalable processes that support knowledge sharing and cross-functional alignment

Why Relay Might Be the Perfect Fit For You

You push relentlessly for reinvention: You're always asking "how can this be better?" -- in your work, in your craft, in yourself. Comfort is a signal to push harder, not coast. You'd rather build something better than defend something familiar.
You crave autonomy: We trust our team with big challenges and the freedom to solve them. If you’re someone who takes initiative, is comfortable taking risks, and seeks input when needed, you’ll find the freedom here empowering.
You own your work: You take pride in your work, follow through on commitments, and feel a deep sense of responsibility for outcomes, not just tasks.
You build with AI, not just use it: You're actively embedding AI into how you work, pushing what's possible, and bringing your team along with you.
You care about impact, not noise: You care deeply about the substance of your work. You measure success by results, not recognition, and you let your work speak for itself.
You’re energized by complexity and ambiguity: You enjoy tackling problems that don’t come with a playbook. You’re comfortable building from scratch, iterating as you go, and collaborating to shape the best path forward.
You seek out feedback: You see directness as respect, not criticism. You actively seek input, sit with hard truths, and use feedback as fuel for improvement.
Small businesses are why we're here: Relay exists to help them thrive -- and that mission has to resonate with you.
