Original employer description
Reproduced verbatim from the employer. Verify everything in this brief against the source text below.
Citizen is building an army of 1,000 active creators per month who film, share, and report in real time from their neighborhoods. This person owns that program end to end — recruiting, paying, managing, and growing a creator network that turns ordinary people into the eyes of their city. It's part talent scout, part community operator, part growth hacker. It runs every night.
What you'll do
Build and operate the creator recruitment pipeline from 50 to 1,000 active creators/month
Own creator incentives: payment structures, milestone rewards, exclusives, partnerships
Run the creator community daily — Slack or Discord, nightly engagement, content feedback, momentum
Source and close media and partnership deals that expand the creator pool (local news, influencers, neighborhood orgs)
Work with product to define the tooling creators need and surface friction points back into the roadmap
Define and track the metrics: creator activation rate, retention, content volume, incident creation lift
What we're looking for
4+ years running creator programs, influencer networks, or community growth at a consumer app or media company
Has personally built a community from scratch — not inherited one
Comfortable owning a program that runs nights and weekends; this isn't a 9-5
Strong taste in video content and an instinct for what goes viral
Experience with incentive design and creator economics
Bonus: background in hyperlocal media, public safety, or news
Why this role
Citizen protects millions of people every day. The creator army is how we scale that mission — more eyes, more footage, faster response, more lives protected. This person is building something that has never existed before at this company.
Salary Range
This role offers a base salary of $80,000 - $120,000 per year, plus equity.
Compensation & Benefits
We offer competitive salary, equity, and a full benefits package, including:
At least one fully employer-sponsored medical plan option
Dental and vision coverage, with a small employee contribution
Unlimited PTO
Up to 14 weeks paid parental leave (for all parents)
Monthly tech stipend
Free mental health support
Hybrid work environment + catered lunches (NYC HQ)
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at Citizen
Citizen is an equal opportunity employer. We’re building a team that reflects the diversity of the communities we serve — across race, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, ability, and background.
We know that diverse teams make better decisions and build more effective products. If you don’t meet every listed qualification, we still encourage you to apply. Skills, potential, and lived experience matter.

Why ask this: Triggered when lifecycle or retention signals appear. Triggered by the posting’s mention of lifecycle / retention signals.
Step 3
Each angle below starts from a real signal in the posting. The phrase “if this reflects your real experience” matters — don’t invent experience you don’t have.
Angle 01
Lifecycle / CRM angle
If this reflects your real background, emphasize: segmentation and lifecycle journeys, CRM tooling and journey orchestration, and retention, activation, and reactivation impact
Why we suggest this: posting mentions lifecycle / email / crm and retention.
Keyword stuffing, fabricated bullets, or borrowed metrics tend to backfire in the first screen. Use these as a checklist, not a script.
