Legion Health

Original employer description
Reproduced verbatim from the employer. Verify everything in this brief against the source text below.
At Legion Health, we believe everyone deserves fast, affordable, and world-class health care, and we’re developing the AI infrastructure to deliver it ourselves at world scale.
Legion is building autonomous medical care (the AI doctor), starting with psychiatry. Our AI-native care-delivery platform currently automates 95% of the administrative work required for us to deliver direct patient care. We also recently became the first company ever to receive regulatory authorization to let AI prescribe psychiatric medications, allowing us to not only collapse health care’s admin costs but also its clinical labor costs—shifting this industry’s economics from humans to tokens.
Our technical moat is hard to copy—we combine rich data, production AI, doctors in the loop, and end-to-end care operations to deliver measurably better care to a clinically complex patient population. This has helped us produce 25K+ total visits in just 2 years, all while holding ops costs flat and achieving industry-leading patient NPS and retention. While the last generation of healthcare startups made the existing system incrementally more efficient, Legion is rebuilding full-stack care delivery from first principles. Our vision? A 10X better patient experience that’s higher quality, less expensive, and more scalable than ever before. And a 10X better clinician experience that frees our providers to focus on what matters most: caring for patients.
Legion Health is backed by Y Combinator, leading venture capital firms, and founders from Function Health, Modern Health, Everly Health, Trusted Health, Clipboard Health, PatientPing, Sesame Care, Faire, EasyPost, and fuboTV.
Join us as we build the future of health care: faster, higher-quality, and more affordable, powered by doctors and AI working together.
Job Type: Full-Time
Role Type: SEO / AI Search / Organic Growth / Content Growth
Ideal Experience Level: 4+ years
Location: San Francisco or Remote, with regular in-person founder/growth sprints
US Visa Sponsorship: Yes
Legion is hiring an SEO & AI Search Growth Lead to build the company’s organic acquisition engine across Google Search, Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT Search, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, Bing/Copilot, Reddit, YouTube, and other surfaces where patients discover care.
You will own the full organic search funnel: discovery, rankings, AI citations, landing pages, eligibility, scheduling, first visits, retention, and reactivation.
This is a hands-on role. You should be comfortable building the strategy, auditing technical SEO, writing content briefs, setting up AI-assisted workflows, reviewing medical content with clinicians, shipping page updates, and tying organic growth directly to booked visits.
Own Legion’s organic growth number across qualified organic sessions, eligibility completions, scheduled visits, completed visits, CAC payback, contribution margin, LTV, retention, and reactivation.
Build Legion’s SEO and AI-search strategy across high-intent psychiatry, anxiety, depression, medication management, refills, insurance-covered care, state-specific psychiatry access, and fast mental health care.
Win visibility in traditional SERPs and AI answer surfaces, including Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT Search, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, and Bing/Copilot.
Build a content engine that uses AI for research, outlines, briefs, refreshes, and QA support without producing low-value scaled content. Every clinical page must be accurate, useful, reviewed, and compliant.
Create authoritative, non-commodity content with clinician review, clear authorship, citations, updated dates, medical review workflows, and patient-first explanations.
Own technical SEO: crawlability, indexation, internal linking, canonicalization, sitemaps, robots.txt, AI crawler access, structured data, Core Web Vitals, JavaScript rendering, and server-log analysis.
Maintain AI-search crawl visibility for relevant bots, including Googlebot, Bingbot, OAI-SearchBot, PerplexityBot, Claude-SearchBot, and user-triggered retrieval agents where appropriate.
Build location and service-page systems that rank for high-intent searches like “psychiatrist in Dallas,” “online psychiatrist Texas,” “anxiety medication refill,” and “insurance-covered psychiatry.”
Own conversion from organic visit to appointment: page templates, trust modules, insurance and price messaging, clinician credibility, scheduling CTAs, intake abandonment, and A/B testing.
Build dashboards that connect organic and AI-search visibility to eligibility completions, booked first visits, completed visits, LTV, payback, and retention.
Partner with product, data, clinical, legal, compliance, and operations to move fast without compromising patient trust, clinical quality, HIPAA safety, or healthcare marketing rules.
Build the operating system for organic growth: weekly search reviews, content roadmap, technical SEO backlog, citation monitoring, refresh cycles, experiment tracking, and budget pacing.
Make Legion the trusted answer for high-intent psychiatric care searches across Google, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, and Bing/Copilot.
Drive meaningful booked first visits from organic and AI-search surfaces, not just impressions, rankings, or traffic.
Build a repeatable content and technical SEO system that compounds every month.
Improve organic conversion rate, eligibility completion rate, visit completion rate, and payback.
Create medically accurate content that patients trust and clinicians are comfortable standing behind.
Build clean measurement for a world where rankings, clicks, AI citations, and zero-click answers all matter.
Know when to create, refresh, consolidate, redirect, prune, or stop producing content.
Scale organic growth without black-hat links, thin AI pages, fake authority, misleading claims, or compliance shortcuts.
5+ years driving SEO, organic growth, content growth, or AI-search visibility for a consumer, healthcare, marketplace, fintech, subscription, telehealth, wellness, or other regulated company.
Direct ownership of organic growth tied to revenue, leads, bookings, appointments, or other business outcomes.
Deep technical SEO experience across crawl/indexation, internal linking, JavaScript SEO, structured data, Core Web Vitals, server logs, schema, canonicalization, and site architecture.
Strong understanding of 2026 AI-search behavior: query fan-out, answer citations, crawler access, retrieval systems, entity authority, third-party source influence, and AI visibility tracking.
Experience building AI-assisted content workflows with human review, fact-checking, source control, editorial QA, and clinical or expert approval.
Strong healthcare judgment. You understand that psychiatry content is YMYL content, and that accuracy, trust, patient expectations, claims, privacy, and review workflows matter.
Comfortable with tools such as Google Search Console, GA4, PostHog, Ahrefs/Semrush, Screaming Frog/Sitebulb, BigQuery, Looker/Hex, Webflow/Next.js, Figma, Airtable, Clay, n8n, AirOps, LLM workflows, and AI visibility tools.
Able to write and edit strong page briefs, outlines, hooks, metadata, landing page copy, internal links, and conversion-focused content.
Comfortable making lightweight code/content changes yourself or briefing engineering clearly.
Low ego, high urgency, founder-level ownership. You can build the roadmap Monday, fix indexation Tuesday, rewrite a landing page Wednesday, and cut low-quality content Thursday.
Salary: $30 to $100/hour
Additional Perks: meal stipends, growth budget, content budget, tooling budget
Time Off: Flexible, unlimited vacation policy
Work Hours: Flexible
Work Setup: Remote, with regular in-person founder/growth sprints
Impact: Build the organic discovery engine for a company trying to change health care forever.
Growth Opportunities: As we scale, this role can grow into Head of Organic Growth or a broader consumer growth leadership role.
