Original employer description

We believe conversations will become the #1 way to shop.
At Gorgias, we’re building the platform that makes this real: a unified AI agent that sells, supports, and re-engages customers across the entire journey. Conversational Commerce is the future of ecommerce, and we’re leading that shift.
Our mission is to turn every interaction between a brand and its customers into a relationship: personal, seamless, and intelligent. By combining deep product expertise with the latest in AI, we’re making shopping feel more natural, human, and connected than ever before.
To win, we focus relentlessly on:
Quality: conversations that feel authentic and on-brand.
Experience: effortless shopping from chat to checkout.
Re-engagement: personal, 1-1 dialogue instead of noisy marketing.
The opportunity is massive. As AI reshapes how people buy, Gorgias is building the foundation for the next decade of ecommerce, where every brand has its own intelligent agent and every customer feels understood.
Join us to make Conversational Commerce real.
"I see nothing about this job as small. This is one of the critical levers of the marketing team at $100M in revenue and growing fast." — Heather Adams, VP of Marketing
You're building the machine, not maintaining it — full-funnel campaigns, paid channels firing on all cylinders, and a strategy that earns pipeline instead of just chasing it.
You'll have a VP in your corner who speaks your language. Heather has built demand gen programs before and is waiting for someone to run it with her.
Career-defining transformation moment: Gorgias has successfully evolved from SMB-first PLG helpdesk to a multi-segment Conversational Commerce platform — one motion to many, one persona to several, one region to global.
AI will reshape how demand gen gets done, and you'll decide what gets automated and what stays deliberate — that judgment is increasingly the most valuable skill in marketing.
Small team, big mandate. 2–3 direct reports. Your fingerprints on everything.
Upcoming focus on international expansion: EMEA — Germany, France, Italy, UK — is going to be a bigger focus in the coming quarters.
You own the strategy, execution, and team behind pipeline creation — the full funnel across SMB (PLG/self-serve) and mid-market/enterprise (ABM). The team is capable but has been running without senior leadership. You walk in, assess what works, and build the rest.
Demand Generation at Gorgias is measured on New ARR. That's your number.
Own demand gen strategy across SMB (self-serve / PLG) and mid-market / enterprise (sales-led / ABM)
Drive pipeline acceleration through underutilized paid channels (Google Ads / SEM, LinkedIn, app stores, paid social) as well as testing into new channels
Bring full-funnel thinking to every campaign — audience, channel mix, offer design, creative, nurture
Move the function beyond bottom-of-funnel — build demand earlier, convert it more efficiently
Apply disciplined judgment to AI and automation: know what gets automated, what stays intentional
Partner cross-functionally with Sales, CX, and the rest of marketing to break down silos
Manage and grow a team of 2–3 marketers
Build the international/EMEA demand gen playbook as we expand our investment there
7+ years in B2B demand gen with broad channel experience: paid search, paid social, SEM, LinkedIn, app stores
Proven ability to balance PLG / self-serve (SMB) and ABM / sales-led (mid-market / enterprise) motions
End-to-end campaign thinking: audience, channel, offer, and creative — not just individual tactics
Deep AI and martech technical fluency coupled with curiosity and willingness to try new ways of working
Strong cross-functional collaboration skills; comfortable breaking down silos
Toronto-based preferred
EMEA demand gen experience
Both PLG and sales-led motions at the same company
ABM tooling experience: 6sense, Demandbase, or similar
Familiarity with the Shopify / e-commerce ecosystem
SQL comfort or close partnership with marketing ops / analytics
You need a large team or a fully built machine to do your best work
Your background is D2C or brand marketing rather than B2B SaaS demand gen
Your definition of demand gen is outbound email sequences and SDR support
AI at Gorgias
At Gorgias, AI is a natural extension of how we work and build. Our teams use it every day to research, write, analyze, code, and craft better customer experiences. Everyone has access to premium AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Granola & others) and an annual L&D budget to explore new ones.
The real magic happens when we share what we learn. Our #powerup Slack channel is a digital petri dish of new tools and workflows, and each team has AI champions who showcase fresh ideas during weekly company-wide standups, now practically AI demo sessions.
We see AI not as a replacement for creativity or empathy, but as a multiplier, helping us move faster, think deeper, and serve customers better.
