Use this posting to prepare
Each subsection below is grounded in something the posting or the role fields actually say. Use them as prompts — not as finished resume copy.
Step 1
Terms in the actual posting. Use these only where they match your real experience.
Step 2
Worth raising before applying or in the first recruiter conversation.
01Which systems and attribution models are considered the source of truth?
Why ask this: Triggered when marketing ops, attribution, or analytics tooling is named. Triggered by the posting’s mention of marketing ops / analytics tooling.
02How is the relationship between paid acquisition and lifecycle structured?
Why ask this: Triggered when both paid and lifecycle signals appear. Triggered by the posting’s mention of both paid and lifecycle signals.
03How are retention, activation, and reactivating-lapsed accounts measured?
Why ask this: Triggered when lifecycle or retention signals appear. Triggered by the posting’s mention of lifecycle / retention signals.

Step 3
Each angle below starts from a real signal in the posting. The phrase “if this reflects your real experience” matters — don’t invent experience you don’t have.
Angle 01
Lifecycle / CRM angle
If this reflects your real background, emphasize: segmentation and lifecycle journeys, CRM tooling and journey orchestration, and retention, activation, and reactivation impact
Why we suggest this: posting mentions lifecycle / email / crm.
Keyword stuffing, fabricated bullets, or borrowed metrics tend to backfire in the first screen. Use these as a checklist, not a script.

Original employer description

We are looking for a Growth Marketing Specialist to join Stream on our mission of elevating the quality of apps for billions of users globally.
This is a full-time role based in our Boulder, Colorado office (hybrid - 3 days/week in the office expected).
As our Growth Marketing Specialist, you’ll own Stream’s presence in the channels where developers actually spend their time. You’ll run three programs end to end - social & community, sponsorships & partnerships, and our developer email program - working day to day with our Marketing and Developer Relations (DevRel) teams to reach developers in a voice they trust. It’s a hands-on, early-career role with real ownership from day one and room to grow your scope as your programs prove out.
Own and grow Stream’s presence across key developer channels, including Discord, X/Twitter, Reddit, and wherever else developers gather.
Engage authentically with community members alongside DevRel - answering questions and sparking conversations, not just promoting.
Surface developer feedback from these communities back to the right internal teams.
Monitor community health and report on growth, engagement, and sentiment.
Identify, evaluate, and manage sponsorship opportunities with developer-focused YouTube channels, newsletters, podcasts, and independent writers.
Build and maintain relationships with content creators and developer influencers who fit Stream’s audience.
Negotiate and coordinate sponsored-content deliverables, keeping quality high and messaging on-brand.
Track the ROI of each campaign and keep improving the program.
Drive the strategy and execution of our developer email program - newsletters, announcements, and lifecycle messaging.
Partner with content and DevRel on messaging, and segment audiences thoughtfully.
Measure opens, clicks, and downstream signups, and use what you learn to improve performance.
Across all of this, you’ll keep Stream’s developer voice consistent and trusted, take initiative without waiting for a predefined backlog, and expand your ownership over time as your programs deliver.
You’re hands-on, self-directed, and energized by owning programs end to end. You’re comfortable in technical communities - or genuinely eager to learn the space - and you care more about brand fit and business impact than vanity metrics.
Hands-on social and email marketing experience - you’ve personally run social channels and email programs, not just watched them happen.
Comfort engaging with developers, or real eagerness to learn, including the ability to hold an authentic conversation in a technical community.
Strong, clear, concise writing and the ability to match a brand voice.
Strong organization and self-direction - you can juggle social, email, and a sponsorship pipeline at once without dropping the ball.
A data-aware mindset; you track your own work and use metrics to improve it.
Active, applied use of AI tools in your daily work.
An agile, collaborative, learning-oriented approach.
Agency experience.
B2B SaaS background.
Experience marketing to developers, or to a similarly specific, high-tech niche audience.
Hands-on experience with email platforms such as HubSpot, Salesforce, ActiveCampaign, or similar.
Hands-on experience building community on platforms such as Discord and Reddit.
An established track record or following within a developer or technical community.
Direct ownership of programs that influence Stream's growth and developer adoption.
Exposure to modern developer marketing, community-led growth, and creator partnerships.
Close collaboration with experienced Marketing and Developer Relations professionals.
The chance to work with cutting-edge developer products used by leading brands worldwide.
Growth, engagement, and sentiment across developer community channels.
ROI of sponsorship and partnership campaigns.
Email performance, including open rates, click rates, and downstream signups.
Consistency and quality of Stream’s developer-facing brand voice across channels.
