About us
Garage is building the platform that powers commerce across America's essential industries. We started by serving fire departments, where buying mission-critical vehicles and equipment used to take months of paperwork, phone calls, and waiting. We automate the entire transaction: payments, freight, paperwork, warranty, and financing. Months become minutes.
In under a year, we now serve local governments across all 50 states and have grown revenue >10x. We recently closed a $13.5M Series A ($18M total raised) from Infinity Ventures, Y Combinator, Initialized Capital, FJ Labs, and other top investors. We're early, we're moving fast, and we're just getting started.
About the role
In New Verticals, you are the driving force behind Garage’s expansion into new markets. You will fuel the growth of Garage by driving sales, building customer relationships, and taking on the operational work needed to launch and grow new verticals. You will work cross-functionally with growth, operations, product, engineering, and leadership in this role. You’ll wear multiple hats and work closely with customers to understand their needs, close new business, and help ensure the success of each new market. You will learn what it’s like to be on the ground floor of building and scaling a new business within a fast-growing startup.
In this role, you will:
Strategize and implement initiatives to drive Garage's expansion into new verticals by developing market-entry strategies, building customer relationships, and closing new business
Become a trusted subject matter expert in Garage’s new markets
Analyze market trends, customer behavior, and competitive landscape to identify growth opportunities
Tackle a wide range of operational tasks to ‘keep the planes flying’
Act as an advocate for Garage’s brand, representing our company’s vision and values to current and prospective partners
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, understanding their needs and providing exceptional customer service
We're looking for someone who:
Loves the energy of a high-growth environment where every day looks a little different
You have good judgement, high integrity, and a no-task-too-small mindset
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
2+ years of experience in startup sales, investment banking, consulting, ex-Founders, working at a startup, business development, or related roles
Analytical mindset with ability to interpret data, detect insights, and implement solutions quickly
Exceptional organization skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with customers and internal stakeholders
Self-starter who thrives in ambiguous environments, and proactively takes on tasks
Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks
We’ve grown revenue over 10x in the last year and are well capitalized after a recent $13.5M Series A ($18M in funding raised total).
Our product is something people use everyday to buy the equipment local communities everywhere depend on.
We have a talent-dense, high-performance team where everyone joining now has an outsized impact.
What we’ve built works. We’re backed by world-class vendors: Y Combinator, Infinity Ventures, Initialized Capital, FJ Labs, and more.
You’ll be one of our first 35 employees, operating as a foundational member of the team, partnering alongside the company’s founders.
The values that fuel us at Garage:
Growth oriented. We invest in people who grow as the company grows. We all should be constantly learning.
Humility. Everyone has a lot to give and a lot to learn. We believe in creating an environment where the best ideas win and acknowledging when we are wrong.
Customer focused. We have a genuine love for our customers. Customer success is our success.
Hack to success. We move fast and take big swings. We always aim for a solution that addresses 80% of the problem in 20% of the time. We make informed bets, launch quickly, and iterate.
What we offer:
Competitive salary and stock options
100% covered health, dental and vision insurance (with additional buy-up options)
Unlimited paid time off every year in addition to company observed holidays
Daily lunch & dinner
$100 / month wellness stipend
401(k) w/ employer match to help save for your future
Pre-tax commuter benefits

More to explore
Each angle below starts from a real signal in the posting. The phrase “if this reflects your real experience” matters — don’t invent experience you don’t have.
Angle 01
Marketing ops angle
If this reflects your real background, emphasize: systems ownership (CRM, CDP, automation), data quality, attribution, and reporting, and stakeholder workflows and dashboards
Why we suggest this: posting mentions marketing ops / analytics.
Keyword stuffing, fabricated bullets, or borrowed metrics tend to backfire in the first screen. Use these as a checklist, not a script.
