Exa is building a search engine for the AI era. Our Search API currently powers Agents, Fortune 500s and AI labs as we transform an industry that hasn’t been disrupted since the 90s. We're a largely SF-based team of ~100 from Harvard, MIT, Meta, Google Research, ex-founders & dropouts alike.
We are rapidly building the most intelligent search engine in history. We’re high agency, low-ego, and united by the feeling that this is one of the last problems worth getting right.
The Role
As a Product Marketer at Exa, you'll own how we position, launch, and tell the story of our products to developers and enterprise buyers. You'll make Exa the defining brand in AI Search — through product launches, campaigns, demos, and moments that cut through the noise. This role blends strategic thinking with hands-on execution across every surface where our brand lives - and where it doesn't live yet :)
What You'll Do
- Own product positioning - translate Exa's technical capabilities into clear, compelling narratives that resonate with both developers and Enterprise executives
- Lead GTM strategy for product launches - coordinating across product, eng, sales, and marketing to ensure maximum impact
- Run campaigns across digital, social, and brand channels - plan and execute launches that land and create momentum, especially on X and LinkedIn
- Create high-quality content - technical blog posts, product demos, podcasts, and thought leadership that builds credibility with technical audiences
- Brand development - from billboards to viral campaigns, how will you turn Exa into a household name?
- Collaborate closely with Product to prioritize feature development based on market insight, and ensure new features are packaged with clear value propositions to ICPs and buyer personas.
- Plan product-centric sessions and demos for events and conferences, showcasing Exa's latest innovations to the developer community and enterprise prospects
Who You Are
- Experienced in product marketing for technical products — you know how to market to developers and technical buyers
- You've launched products and run campaigns end-to-end, from identifying ICPs and positioning to content and launch execution
- You've got taste — and you hold yourself to that standard.
- A technical storyteller - the ability to turn complex concepts into narratives that resonate
- A creator - for both technical and enterprise audiences (blogs, demos, one-pagers, videos, podcasts)
- Comfortable with ambiguity, fast-moving priorities, and building from scratch
- Strong communicator who earns trust with internal and external stakeholders
- You care deeply about building perfect search and are excited about advocating for Exa :)

01How is success measured for this role?
Why ask this: Useful when the posting doesn't name success metrics. Triggered by the posting’s mention of baseline (always asked when metrics are missing).
02How is the ICP / persona work structured between product marketing and sales?
Why ask this: Triggered when product marketing or sales enablement signals appear. Triggered by the posting’s mention of product marketing / enablement signals.
Keyword stuffing, fabricated bullets, or borrowed metrics tend to backfire in the first screen. Use these as a checklist, not a script.
